High-end chemicals and new materials

Yankuang Energy fully implements the New Development Philosophy, seek both external and internal improvement, and pay equal emphasis on industrial operation and capital operation, fostering five major industries of mining, high-end chemicals and new materials, new energy, high-end equipment manufacturing, and intelligent logistics, and building three major operating bases of Shandong, Shaanxi &Inner Mongolia and Australia. Looking ahead, it will work to achieve an annual coal production capacity of 300 million tons in 5-10 years, and build more than 8 green and intelligent mining coal mines each with a production capacity of over 10 million tons. The annual output of chemicals products will exceed 20 million tons. The vision is to realize 3 million kW of installed capacity of wind and solar power by the end of the “fourteenth five-year plan” (2021-2025), and 10 million kW in 5-10 years.

Yankuang Energy has 4 high-end chemical parks including Lunan Chemicals in Shandong, Yulin Nenghua in Shaanxi, Rongxin Chemicals in Inner Mongolia, and Future Energy in Shaanxi. Among them, Rongxin Chemicals’ 4,000-ton Coal Water Slurry consumed per day Gasification Technology has taken the lead internationally and Lunan Chemicals becomes the "chain master" of the coal-based fine chemicals products industrial chain.

Yankuang Energy works for high-end, refined and low-carbon development. It is China’s only company that masters both low-temperature and high-temperature FT synthesis technologies. It has built multiple complete coal chemicals industrial chains such as coal gasification and coal liquefaction. Its major products include methanol, ethylene glycol, acetic acid, caprolactam, coal-to-oil. The annual production capacity of chemical products has reached 7.1 million tons (excluding the production capacity of intermediate products, by-products and some products under construction).

The sales and production volume of methanol ranks the first in China, and the production capacity of acetic acid ranks the third. Caprolactam produced by it has made foray into the high-speed spinning field in the polyester industry, while polyformaldehyde has led the way in China. 115°C refined FT wax has successfully broken out of foreign monopoly into international high-end market.

Established in 2007, Lunan Chemicals Industrial Park is located in Tengzhou City, Shandong Province. there are dozens of types of products, such as acetic acid, ethyl acetate, polyformaldehyde, and caprolactam, with an annual production capacity of 2.3 million tons. A number of its specification have been recognized as national standards. Remarkably, acetic acid, ethyl acetate and polyformaldehyde are recognized as Famous brand products in Shandong.

Established in 2004, Yulin Neng Hua is located in Yulin City, Shaanxi Province. The total annual production capacity of the methanol plant is 1.4 million tons. The 100,000 tons/year DMMn plant is undergoing commissioning and trial operation in 2022. 

Established in 2008, Rongxin Chemicals is located in Ordos City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The total production capacity is 2.2 million tons per year, mainly produced 1.8 million tons of methanol and 400,000 tons of ethylene glycol per year.

Established in 2011, Future Energy is located in Yulin City, Shaanxi Province. It is the only China’s enterprise that masters both high and low temperature FT synthesis technologies. The Company operates a 1 million-ton/year coal indirect liquefaction demonstration plant and a 100,000-ton/year high-temperature FT synthesis industrial demonstration plant. The millions-of-tons coal indirect liquefaction demonstration project is an important coal clean and efficient utilization project during the national “12th Five-Year Plan”. It has the largest coal indirect liquefaction demonstration single unit in China, with main products of diesel, naphtha, etc.
